My name is Lucy and I am a 25 year old teacher, taking some time off work to travel the world. I have had fructose malabsorption since November 2012 (possibly because of a parasite I got in South East Asia) I am no expert on fructose and FODMAPS, I can only speak from my own experiences. It can be really difficult to find places to eat out, and even to find places to buy basic groceries when following such a restrictive diet. This is even more difficult and stressful when traveling, as everything is unfamiliar to you!
So I'm just gonna share my experiences with the hope that it might help other fructards (and even glutards) like myself!
***I realise that fructose malabsorption is different for everyone, so you may not be able to eat what I can eat. I can only handle wheat in very small amounts, so while I am not 'gluten intolerant' or Celiac, I often look out for things that are gluten free.
